Norwegian does not have a formal dress code, and most of the time, cruise casual attire is suitable. Women can wear summer or casual dresses, skirts, regular or capri pants, shorts, jeans, and tops, while men can wear khakis, jeans, shorts, and casual shirts. For dinner, men are suggested to wear collared shirts and pants or "nice" jeans, and women can wear slacks or jeans, dresses, skirts, and tops. This dress code applies to all restaurants, although specialty restaurants like Cagney's and Le Bistro may require slightly more formal attire, known as smart casual. Smart casual includes slacks or jeans, dresses, skirts, and tops for women, and jeans or slacks with collared shirts and closed-toed shoes for men.
Norwegian does not have any official formal nights, but "Norwegian's Night Out" is an optional, freestyle version of a formal night, and passengers may also want to pack an all-white outfit for the line's signature White Hot or Glow parties. Most venues on the ship are casual, except for the fancier specialty dining options.
There are some written restrictions for attire on Norwegian. Swimwear is allowed at the buffet and outdoor restaurant, but only if worn with a cover-up. Jeans are acceptable in the main dining room and specialty restaurants, as long as they are not excessively faded or torn, or worn below the hips. Tank tops for men, flip-flops, baseball caps, and visors are not permitted in any of the specialty restaurants or the main dining room.
